Neither candidate met the majority threshold needed to win outright, leading Gonzales and Herrera to face in a May 26 runoff. The allegations have been heavily supported by top Republicans, including President Trump and House Speaker Mike Johnson, who have not yet withdrawn their endorsements of Gonzales.
