TSA officers at Harry Reid Airport in Las Vegas have gone more than 40 days without pay during a partial government shutdown, despite President Trump's executive order calling for the Department of Homeland Security to pay them. Sharree Quick, a TSA officer at Harry Rees Airport, said the shutdown is taking a financial toll on workers and their families, including their prescription medications, gas, and light bills. The strain is growing, with about 100 TSA officers at Reid Airport estimated to be calling out daily during one of the busiest travel periods of the year. Almost 500 TSA workers have quit during this shutdown, and it is unclear whether they will receive one of their missed paychecks or all of them.
