These symptoms may include being overly focused on school, withdrawing from activities, having anxious thoughts before a test, being fidgety, being tearful or having difficulty focusing on the test. Baumstitch suggests that parents can help by normalizing nervousness and telling students that everyone feels anxious at times, but it is usually temporary. She also suggests that students learn that anxiety is a problem they can solve and that learning to navigate it will impact their future.
