Cleveland got spotlight during historic Artemis II moon mission return

Cleveland's role in NASA's historic Artemis II mission was praised during a national spotlight during the historic return of the Apollo spacecraft, which successfully completed a crewed mission around the moon. The Glenn Research Center in Cleveland managed the Orion spacecraft’s European-built service module, which provided power, propulsion, air and water for astronauts during the mission. The service module was critical to Orion's safe return to Earth after its mission completed successfully. The Apollo spacecraft splashed down off the coast of San Diego at approximately 8:07 p.m. Eastern, marking the successful end of NASA's first crewed lunar flyby mission in over 50 years.
