Wink Motors has launched its first street-legal electric microcar, the Wink Mark3, designed specifically to meet and exceed US federal low-speed vehicle (LSV) regulations. The five-door hatchback can seat four full-size adults and can be registered, insured, and plated in 49 states. The vehicle also includes over 30 safety features, including three-point seatbelts, dual-circuit braking system, and multiple visibility upgrades. The 11.5 kWh LiFePO battery can be charged on either a home electrical outlet or via a Level 2 electric car charger. Despite not being highway-capable due to its federally-mandated 25 mph (40 km/h) speed cap, Wink aims to offer better safety than typical NEVs or golf carts. The company also aims to streamline the ownership experience and offer remote demos and support from a nationwide network of independent mechanics.
