New York City basketball players competed for a spot in the Ones Basketball League (OBL), a new one-on-one basketball competition that pits city against city. The league includes teams from Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Washington DC, Miami, Orlando, and Raleigh. Each team has a celebrity owner/general manager, including rapper Jadakiss, former NBA player John Wall, and actor Larenz Tate. The OBL season will begin between May 15 and June 30 in Orlando, Florida. The hope is that this will be the start of a trend for one-person basketball globally.
