OpenClaw creator, Peter Steinberger, was temporarily banned from accessing Anthropic's Claude, following news that subscriptions to the AI model would no longer cover third-party harnesses like OpenClaw. The ban was lifted after Steinberger posted a message on X stating that his account was suspended due to "suspicious activity". An Anthropic engineer, however, offered to help restore the account. This follows news that Steinberger is now employed by OpenAI rival OpenAI. The company claims this change was in response to its own agent Cowork, charging users a "claw tax" based on consumption.
