The Trump administration has announced a $144 million initiative to tackle microplastics in the environment, which is a waste of time and taxpayer money. The Department of Health and Human Services Secretary, Robert Kennedy, stated that the federal government would spend this initiative to measure, understand and remove microplastic from the human body. This comes after a study claimed that human brains contained as much as two plastic spoons’ worth of microplasts, which was totally misleading. The scientist's findings were later confirmed by other researchers. The government is using this money to promote unsubstantiated microplastophobia, which has led to an increase in public life expectancy at an all-time high of 79 years.
