As DHS shutdown drags, Sen. Britt leads GOP push

Congress is yet to reach a deal to fund the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) despite the one-month mark of the partial government shutdown. DHS agencies like FEMA, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency are still in limbo. Democrats are proposing to fund these agencies but not ICE or Customs and Border Protection. Republicans want to fund all of DHS while the negotiations continue, arguing that Democrats are playing politics and attempting to defund ICE. The White House has not responded to any of these proposals.
