Cook County treasurer releases property taxes study

A new study by Cook County Treasurer Maria Pappas has revealed that property taxes have grown at twice the rate of inflation over the past three decades. The study also revealed that in the last 30 years, property taxes in the county grew by 182% and average wages by 161%. The study urges state and local government leaders to come up with a comprehensive reform plan.
