Metro leaders push legislation to end child care affordability crisis

City leaders in Nashville are working together to introduce legislation to address the child care affordability crisis. The legislation would remove certain rules, such as the 1,000-foot spacing zoning barrier that blocks new childcare centers, and would make it less expensive to build more child facilities in the area. The proposal has passed its first reading and will be debated on its second reading at the upcoming Metro Council meeting on April 7.
