Robert Emerson Jr., a convicted felon, has been sentenced to nearly nine years in prison for shooting into an occupied apartment in Charlotte, North Carolina. The incident occurred in June 2023, with a family, including a one-year-old child, inside the apartment. Police found Emerson asleep in a vehicle matching the description of the shooting and found a loaded semi-automatic pistol on his hip and two loaded magazines on his left hip. The firearm examiner determined that the pistol used in the shooting fired the shell casings.
