Trump administration reverses course, seeks to continue battle with law firms

The US Justice Department has withdrawn its appeal against executive orders by President Donald Trump's administration, stating it intends to continue its fight against these executive orders. The executive orders targeted law firms such as Perkins Coie, WilmerHale, Susman Godfrey and Jenner & Block, which had fought back against the administration's attempts to control their security clearance, government contracts, and access to government buildings. The Department of Public Affairs requested a motion to withdraw the appeal in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, stating that it was the defendant's right to pursue this appeal and that there is no prejudice to the plaintiffs.
