Julie Vanloo, a point guard who joined the Liberty roster less than 24 hours before the team's season-opening win, nearly achieved a triple-double in the 106-75 win. Her opportunity came when the Liberty was down five players due to injuries and overseas commitments. Vanloo scored 12 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists and a steal in 22 minutes off the bench. She credits new Liberty head coach Chris DeMarco for instilling confidence in her game. She had previously been cut by the Los Angeles Sparks for the second consecutive year, but changed her mind after a conversation with her mother.
