Creative Pinellas, the county’s umbrella arts support organization, is launching a series of Mental Health First Aid training workshops at various locations in partnership with nonprofit Love IV Lawrence. The workshops will be open to anyone who wishes to attend, including artists. Participants will receive two hours of self-paced online content and five hours of instructor-led training. The sessions will be provided at no cost to participants thanks to a grant from nonprofit Safe & Sound Hillsborough. The location partners were chosen to represent their constituencies and benefit from the initiative. Creative Pinello's CEO, Margaret Murray, highlighted the increasing number of mental health concerns and stress among individuals in the arts community. The agency's goal is to make sure that artists and the community feel empowered to drive their own mental health successes in their communities.
