Raj Kapoor, executive producer and showrunner on the show Conan, has expressed satisfaction after the Oscars, despite feeling exhausted and feeling good about the team that put together the show. Kapoor and fellow producer Katy Mullan know that there's only so much control one can take over when producing live television shows. The most surprising part of the night was when Kumail Nanjiani announced that there was a tie for best live-action short, which he was not given prior to the announcement. Some viewers wondered whether returning host Conan O'Brien always knew when he was on camera and whether he always followed suit. Kapo credits his team for their ability to handle unexpected situations such as a tie-in-air announcement. The show's final performance was almost cut short after commercial, but Kapoor insisted they always had a reprise planned for the juke joint recreation of the "Sinners" moment.
