Portland company pulls 10 million pounds of popular Trader Joe’s product due to glass contamination

A Portland-based supplier, Ajinomoto Foods North America, has recalled nearly 10 million pounds of Trader Joe's Vegetable Fried Rice, a popular product from the company. The original recall was initiated after four customers reported finding glass in the product, which was later identified as the source of the contamination. The recall has now expanded to include several fried rice, ramen and shu mai dumpling brands. The product was sold in 1-pound bags and distributed nationwide, including in Oregon and Washington.
