Embark Studios, the developer behind the popular shooter Arc Raiders, had to cut nearly 100 developers from the team of 120 to 25 when the game's production became so rocky that it required a "reset" approach. The studio's production director, Caio Braga, recalls this during a panel at the Game Developers Conference 2026 called "when your game isn't fun" and how the team managed to convince publisher Nexon that the shooter could be salvaged. The team then began focusing on improving their work flow and adapting their game for the better.
