Boston residents gathered for National Night Out events, meeting with local law enforcement and reflecting on safety in the community. The event, which aims to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while returning a sense of community, took place in various neighborhoods across the city. The Boston mayor and public safety leadership made stops in Dorchester, South Boston, Chinatown, the South End, North End and East Boston. Mayor Michelle Wu responded to recent incidents of violence in Boston, including the shooting of five people in Hyde Park.
