Equinor starts drilling at Brazil's Raia, eyes new Santos Basin exploration in 2027

Equinor has begun drilling at the Raia project in the Campos basin, set to begin production in 2028 and eventually supply about 15% of Brazil's domestic gas demand. The $9 billion project is expected to produce 16 million cubic meters of gas and 126,000 barrels of oil and condensate per day. Additionally, the company is planning an exploratory well for 2027 and is evaluating another in the S-M-1617 area of the Santos basin.
