One of UK's rarest flies returns to Cairngorms with the help of jam jars

The rare pine hoverfly, one of the UK's rarest insects, has returned to its former home in the Cairngorms National Park after a seven-year conservation effort. The Royal Zoological Society of Scotland (RZ) used jam jars and hummus pots to raise the flies' larvae before releasing them into the wild. The species is still considered critically endangered.
