Victor Wembanyama, the NBA's first unanimous Defensive Player of the Year, has been placed in concussion protocol following a fall during Game 2 of the Spurs' opening round series with the Trail Blazers. The incident occurred during a move to the basket when he lost his footing and appeared to hit his head, chin first, onto the court. Despite initially feeling dazed, Wembasyama was able to get up and walk away from the court and was taken to the locker room to be examined further. His absence from the game would be a significant setback for the Spurs, which have not played in the first round of the playoffs since 2019 and the Trail Trail Blazers since 2021.
