The Nissan Z, the original Datsun 240Z, debuted in the late 1960s with timeless styling and affordable entry price. The new 2027 model year model has been given a major makeover for the first time, with a new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic color added to the exterior hue selection and redesigned 19-inch wheels. The Z has also been updated with a six-speed manual transmission and a nine-speed automatic. The track-ready NISMO variant will finally get a manual transmission option, which has been offered with only a nine/10 automatic since its debut. The mid-range Z Performance trim is the most appealing, adding a sportier suspension tune, increased brakes, and power-adjustable seats with faux-suede upholstery. The car is one of the last modern holdouts in the affordable, front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports coupe segment. Despite its retro appeal, the BMW M240i offers more practicality with four seats and a spacious trunk. The Nissan Z is also a significant competitor to the Toyota Supra and BMW Z4.
