HBO Max has acquired the series Bookish, written by Sherlock's Mark Gatiss, for its service in Australia. The series is set in 1940s post-war London and follows a bibliophile sleuth named Book who helps the police solve cases. Bookish has been sold internationally by Beta Film, with new sales also occurring. The show's debut episode in the UK saw 1.5 million viewers, its second highest-performing premiere ever.
