The Minnesota Twins defeated the Detroit Tigers 7-3 in the opening game of a four-game series. Luke Keaschall hit a tiebreaking two-run home run and Victor Caratini contributed with three RBIs. The Twins took a 3-0 lead in the third innings, but the Tigers responded with an equalizer in the fourth. Detroit's Zach McKinstry led with 1-2-3 with two RBIs, while Minnesota's Joe Ryan allowed three runs on three hits in five innings. Cody Laweryson pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief to secure his first career save for the Twins.
