Iconic Department Store To Close 14 More Stores, Including 1 In MD

Macy's is planning to close 14 stores across the country in 2026, including one in Maryland. This follows the announcement of plans to shutter 150 underperforming locations in February 2024. The closures are part of Macy's "Bold New Chapter" strategy, which aims to return the company to sustainable, profitable sales growth. The company has also announced plans to invest in 350 forward Macy's locations.
