The partial government shutdown, which has run on for 42 days, continues to occur despite efforts by President Trump to resume the payroLL for TSA agents who have been working without pay. The Senate passed a deal to fund some Department of Homeland Security agencies, including TSA, but failed to approve it in the House. President Trump signed an executive order to bypass Congress to make the paychecks for the agents paid. Despite the government shutdown being 42 days long, Logan Airport has seen no long lines, but travelers are still taking precautions to avoid long queues. Both parties are seeking a compromise on a Department Of Homeland Security funding compromise. The impasse over funding stems from federal agents’ killing of U.S. citizens Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minnesota.
