Meet Bebop: Humanoid robot causes Southwest flight delay out of Oakland Airport

A Southwest Airlines flight from Oakland to San Diego was delayed more than an hour due to a humanoid robot named Bebop, named Bebe, causing a runway delay. The robot, which was carrying a 70-pound robot for work, was subject to numerous safety checks before departure. The lithium battery exceeded the airline's maximum size and was confiscated, leading to the delay. Elite Event Robotics is now working to recover the battery before Bebeop's next scheduled appearance.
