Keith David has been cast as the lead actor in NBC's private investigator comedy pilot, written by Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, alongside Jake Johnson, who was previously announced to play private investigator Mickey. David will play Garner Taggert, who runs the Garner Toggert PI Agency and is described as a tough guy with antiquated views of the world. The pilot will continue the tradition of Los Angeles private eyes, which began with Philip Marlowe and will end with this show. The project is being produced by Akiva Schaffer and Universal Television.
