OpenAI has acquired the technology news podcast TBPN, hosted by Jordi Hays and John Coogan, as part of its strategy to foster discussions about the impact of AI. The acquisition brings a specialised editorial team into OpenAI's internal strategy organisation to foster these discussions. Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, confirmed the acquisition and stated that the acquisition aligns with the company's mission to ensure the use of artificial general intelligence for all of humanity and foster a constructive dialogue about the changes AI creates. The TBPN team will sit within the Strategy organisation at Open AI and report to Chris Lehane. Under the terms of the agreement, TBPN will maintain editorial independence and continue to manage its own programming, guest appearances, and make independent editorial decisions.
