Cal State East Bay 31-0 after beating Cal Poly Humboldt in regional opener

Cal State East Bay, ranked No 2 in the country and the No. 1 seed in their bracket, advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II at West Regional after defeating Cal Poly Humboldt 83-64. The Pioneers, who are also ranked No 5 in the CSAA, won their fourth consecutive game over Cal Poly, including the CCAA title game. Cal State's Tyree Campbell led the team with 18 points and Terence Haywood added 11. Despite a slow start in the first half, Cal State finished the game at over 50 percent from the field (32-for-59).
