Netflix and other streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, HBO Max, and other platforms have all raised prices over the past year, pushing monthly streaming costs closer to and beyond traditional cable bills. Netflix recently increased its premium tier to $26.99 a month, up from $24.99, while HBO Max increased its Premium plan to $22.99. Other platforms like Disney+ and Peacock have also increased prices. The price hikes have led to a backlash among cord-cutters, with some users taking to Reddit to express their frustration and canceling subscriptions. Kourtnee Jackson, senior editor at CNET, suggested that consumers looking to cut costs should consider bundling services.
