Gladstone requires warning signs on crypto ATMs amid rising scam losses

Gladstone businesses that operate cryptocurrency ATMs are required to post warning signs asking customers, "Are you being scammed?" following an ordinance targeting crypto kiosk fraud. The Clay County prosecuting attorney, Zachary Thompson, is working to expand the warning signs countywide. The ordinance requires businesses to obtain a permit before placing a crypto ATM on their property and will allow police to track machine locations. If businesses do not comply, they could face fines of up to $500 per day.
