Digg, a community platform, has shut down two months after its highly anticipated relaunch by Reddit co-founder, Kevin Rose, and CEO Justin Mezzell, due to an "unprecedented bot problem". The company had been attempting to address the issue with a combination of AI and multiple verification cues. However, the bot problem proved more severe than the team anticipated and led to the closure of the site.
