Matthew Rhys is the lead actor in the horror show "Widow's Bay," set on a fictional island 40 miles off the New England coast, where residents believe it's cursed. Rhys' character, Tom Loftis, plays a beleaguered mayor who is determined to transform the island into a destination like Martha's Vineyard. Despite the show's entertaining cast and clever references, it fails to synthesize its references into anything meaningful. The show is directed by Hiro Murai and directed by Ti West, with an episode featuring guest actors Betty Gilpin and Hamish Linklater. Despite its limitations, the show is praised for its portrayal of characters with a broad and compelling narrative.
