11 People Rescued After Plane Crashes in the Atlantic Ocean, Off the Coast of Florida

A small plane crashed off the coast of Florida on May 12, with 11 people on board. The U.S. Coast Guard Southeast launched a C-27 aircraft to assist in the search. The Federal Aviation Administration reported that a Beechcraft BE30 was headed to Grand Bahama International Airport. The pilot had declared an emergency before communication with the aircraft was lost. The cause of the crash is unknown. The passengers were rescued and transported to area trauma centers.
