BTS Chose Gwanghwamun Square for a Reason — and It Goes Deeper Than Symbolism

BTS is set to perform at Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul on March 21, marking the first stage of its fifth studio album, ARIRANG. The outdoor concert, titled BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRAN, will be free and open to the public. The venue was chosen to reflect BTS' identity as a group rooted in Korea. The location of the concert reflects the group's evolution in Korean history, including royal authority, democratic resistance, and national celebration. The square has hosted royal proclamations and protest movements, World Cup celebrations, and impeachment vigils.
