The severe weather season in Middle Tennessee is set to begin as the month of April ends, with a low severe weather risk for Friday evening into early Saturday and a potentially more active day on Monday. The most severe weather threat is expected to be Monday, with Monday's risk at a 15% Slight Risk (level 2/5) for most of the region. The Storm Prediction Center has listed the far west areas of Middle Tennessee under a level 1/5 Marginal Risk. High-resolution model data indicates a few rain and storms may occur through late afternoon, but these should not be severe. The greater, areawide, severe risk is expected for Monday. All potential severe storms are possible, with threats including damaging winds, large hail, heavy rain, and even tornadoes.
