City, town clerk jobs shift as new AI tool enters scene

A new AI tool, Clerk Minutes, has been introduced in North Carolina, allowing town clerks to track meetings for public records and history. The tool allows clerks to upload their agenda and recording, and use it to generate the minutes, which they can review, assign speakers, and make necessary changes. The founder of the company, Dustin Overbeck, says this is one example of how AI can be used alongside human workers to create quality work. Over 600 municipalities across the country are using this technology, including 100 in the North Carolina state.
