Cabaret Voltaire, a Dada-inspired avant-garde musical force from the UK, is set to embark on a North American and European tour in Seattle. The band's first gig was held at the University of Sheffield 51 years ago, causing a riot when the crowd rioted and threw Stephen Mallinder off the stage. Mallinder and his co-founder, Chris Watson, shared their passion for the band's angularity and stimulatory strangeness. The group’s first major label was Virgin in the 1980s, where their single, “Sensoria” was released. The interview also includes an interview with Peter Care about how the video was initially censored in England but ran wild on MTV America.
