Four Kansas lakes under watches, warnings for toxic algae

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Department of Wildlife and Parks have issued public health advisories due to blue-green algae. The warning includes watches for four lakes, one of which can consume all of the oxygen, kill other plants and wildlife, and release chemicals that are toxic to humans and animals. Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and headaches.
