Hammer wins Republican nomination for secretary of state; Norris carries most area counties

State Sen. Kim Hammer has secured the Republican nomination for Arkansas Secretary of State, beating Bryan Norris who carried most of the Twin Lakes Area. Despite Norris' strong performance, Hammer received 40,876 votes, or 50.58 percent, and Norris finished with 39,938 votes. In Boone County, Norris received 51.26 percent, compared to Hammer’s 1,754 votes. Norris also carried Marion County with 293 votes (63.56 percent), while Hammer received 168 votes (36.44 percent). Despite Norris’ strong performance in other areas, Hammer secured statewide support.
