The carjacking occurred on the 100-block of Bloomfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey, on Sunday evening. The owner of the vehicle had left a woman and two juveniles, ages 4 and 17, inside a parked car while he went into a nearby store. Pedro Salazar, 28, of Newark, allegedly got into the car and threatened to drive away with the children. Police tracked the vehicle down the street with a GPS device and managed to arrest Salazar.
