The popular sci-fi western series Firefly, starring Nathan Fillion, is returning to TV as an animated series, titled Firefly: Still Flyin', reuniting all of the show's surviving cast. The news was announced during a live recording of Fillion and co-star Alan Tudyk's podcast, Once We Were Spacemen. The project is being developed by Fillion's production company, Collision33, in partnership with 20th Television Animation and Disney, and will be showrun by the writer-producer team of Marc Guggenheim and Tara Butters. Despite its short-lived cancellation, the show sold well on home release and has a dedicated fanbase.
