Stoneham Police in Massachusetts have held a safety meeting to raise awareness about illegal riding of E-bikes, as they worry that too many children are doing so illegally. The meeting was held to inform parents of the dangers and laws around E-bike riding. The district attorney for Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan stated that many teenagers are unaware of the speed and severity of these accidents, which have resulted in deaths of a 13-year-old boy who died after crashing his E-Bike in November. Currently, if an E-cyclist speeds faster than 20 mph, the rider must be at least 16 with a permit and a license. The fire department also warned about the dangers of the lithium batteries inside E-veh.
