The shooting at Hill Country College Preparatory High School near Bulverde, Texas, killed a 15-year-old student who turned the gun on himself after shooting a teacher at the school. The male student was pronounced dead at the scene and the teacher was taken to a hospital in San Antonio. The school was placed on lockdown at 8:34 a.m. on Monday, March 30, and multiple agencies responded quickly to the situation. The sheriff's office confirmed that the student's death was confirmed at a scene, but the teacher's condition is unknown. Students were transported to a nearby middle school for reunification with parents and belongings left on campus will remain secured until further notice. There will be no school on Tuesday, March 31, to allow time for families and staff to process and heal. The Ecumenical Center is offering resources and access to trained professionals for those struggling in the aftermath of the shooting.
