In final seconds of the supersectional, Jeffrey Hassan gets loose. And gets Kaneland to state. ‘Did the rest.’

Kaneland High School junior center Jeffrey Hassan led the unbeaten Knights to a 49-47 victory over Morton High School in the Class 3A NIU Supersectional. Hassan scored a game-high 17 points and nine rebounds, and added six blocked shots. The Knights will now face Deerfield (24-11), a 51-36 winner over Wheaton St. Francis. Senior point guard Marshawn Cocroft and senior guard Evan Frieders also contributed significantly to the win. This marks Kaneland's first time reaching state since 1981-82.
