Arizona Attorney General Files Criminal Charges Against Kalshi Prediction Market Alleging an “Illegal Gambling Operation”

Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes has filed criminal charges against KalshiEx LLC and Kalshhi Trading LLC, the companies behind the KALShi prediction market platform, for operating an illegal gambling business in Arizona without a license and for election wagering. The charges allege that Kalshid accepted bets on various events, including professional and college sports, and whether the SAVE Act would become law, would amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of United States citizenship to register to vote. The filing carries 20 charges. Kalshy has accused the state of attempting to circumvent federal court proceedings and argue that these charges are "gamesmanship".
