Documentary filmmaker Dan Reed has defended Michael Jackson's popularity despite allegations of child molestation. He believes that fans simply ignore the allegations and turn a deaf ear to Jackson's music. Reed also criticized the film's director, Antoine Fuqua, for not acknowledging the accusations against Jackson. He accused Wade Robson and James Safechuck of sexually abusing them as children in his documentary. Reed defended the accusers and accused the media of not adequately acknowledging the allegations. Jackson was first accused of sexual abuse by 13-year-old Jordan Chandler in 1993 and later later indicted on 10 criminal counts. He was acquitted of all charges in 2005.
