The Lakers' Austin Reaves made a controversial play in an NBA season game against the Nuggets, which ended in a 127-125 overtime loss. The Nuggets were trailing 118-115 with a 118-113 lead, but Reaves intentionally fouled Reaves with 5.2 seconds left in the final minutes of the game. Reaves missed his own free throws, but managed to score a game-winning baseline runner with 1.9 seconds left to force overtime and steal the season series from Denver. The Lakers' coach, David Adelman, acknowledged that this play was "one in 100 in the NBA" and credited Reaves' skill and effort. The game ended in an intentional foul call, which allowed Deandre Ayton to get into an ideal box-out position between the left and right position between him and the basket.
